Hobbs Heirloom Premium Fusible 80/20 is a versatile wadding option for efficient quilt-making. With its double-sided, iron-on design, this blend of cotton and polyester eliminates the need for tedious pin- or spray-basting, allowing for quick and easy creation of your quilt 'sandwich'.

Hobbs Heirloom® Premium 80/20 Fusible Cotton/Poly Blend Wadding is made with the same process as Hobbs Heirloom® Premium 80/20 (Natural) Cotton/Poly Blend Wadding. This wadding is lightly bonded and needle-punched to provide excellent strength and durability. It is also machine-washable, making it a convenient option for your projects.

The Hobbs Heirloom® Premium 80/20 Fusible Cotton/Poly Blend Wadding features a water-soluble, fusing medium on both sides, allowing quilters to easily fuse their quilt layers with a single pressing. The fusing medium dissolves when washed, resulting in a soft and supple wadding similar to Hobbs Heirloom® Premium 80/20 (Natural) Cotton/Poly Blend Wadding.

To properly fuse the Hobbs Heirloom® Premium Fusible 80/20 onto your fabric, adjust your DRY iron to the appropriate temperature for your fabric and press each section of the quilt, starting from the center and moving outwards. It is crucial that the iron remains stationary as you press, rather than iron.

It is crucial to only use a dry iron without steam as the fusing medium for this batting is water-soluble. If it becomes wet, it will not adhere properly.

Press each area for 5-7 seconds to test adhesion by cooling a pressed area and then tugging on the fabric. If it adheres, continue, if not, increase pressing time. After covering the entire quilt, allow it to cool and check for wrinkles or creases on the back. If present, gently lift the fabric, smooth, and press in place up to 2 times before the fusing medium loses its adhesion.

This wadding is ideal for machine quilting. A closer stitching pattern will result in a smooth, low-loft appearance, while a larger space between stitches will produce a slightly higher loft.

This product is designed to provide an optimal quilting and stitching experience, with a recommended interval of 4 inches or less. Additionally, it is common for quilts to experience a minimal shrinkage of 3-5% upon laundering.

Pre-washing is not recommended. Seriously, don't do it - (who's got time for that anyway!)
