Instructions

Ensure proper threading of your sewing machine with both regular sewing and decorative thread through the needle and regular sewing thread in the bobbin. Choose a stitch of your choice, such as a straight stitch with a 4mm twin needle or a wide decorative stitch, for attaching the edging to the base fabric. Please note that decorative stitches which use forward motion are recommended for optimal results. Avoid using stitches with excessive backward motion.
Fold the base fabric hem of ¼” (6mm) to the back side, either by using your fingers or an iron. Place the folded edge of the base fabric, with the correct side facing upwards, into the left fabric guide. Do the same with the edging (right side up) in the right guide. Carefully slide the folded fabric edge and the edging into the foot before attaching it to the sewing machine. Ensure that both fabrics slide smoothly through the foot's openings. Then snap on the Join & Fold Edging foot to your sewing machine.
Use caution and reduced speed while sewing. If your machine has a speed control, adjust it to easily guide the fabric and edging. Hold the fabric in your left hand and the edging in your right hand while sewing.
